While the term landscape design may mean different things to different people, it is generally the art of creating and sensitively organizing the outdoor environment for human use and enjoyment. Landscape design entails understanding design principles, developing drawing skills and utilizing creativity. A knowledge of natural environmental conditions such as soil, wind, sun and precipitation, and landscape materials are all necessary components.
